#studyTipsbyHazzy
hi everyone! o (◡‿◡✿)
i guess most of you are stressed and
bummed about the upcoming examinations, from looking at tweets and stating how
unprepared you guys are. be it normal examinations or major examinations,
everyone would feel the tension, if you don't, i presume you're either one
smart bitch or you're just planning to flunk it.
since it's the exam period for most of you
guys, i've been inspired to share my tips i use for exams.
side
track for a while, i'm gonna talk about how my exams work in SP. after the end of the semester,
we have
to take our end-of-semester tests which takes about one week (not too sure
about it). After that week, it's the exam week for all students and we'd only
come to school to attend our exams. Two weeks are used up for the examinations.
for me, the only examination I had to sit for was mathematics since my course
was more to the practical side than on the theory side, perks of being a DMIT
student ;-)
okay so here are my tips for exams, and
i'd hope it'll be useful for you.
1. Eliminate all distractions.
It’s
pretty impossible for someone to have full concentration while studying when
there’s a phone beside you, notifications popping every single second.
Make it a habit to take away all forms of distractions, be it
mobile phones, food, games. Anything that will bring you away from studying.
Hide it somewhere where you would least expect it to be. If music distracts you,
find a way to throw it away for a while. It wouldn’t hurt to not listen to
music for a few hours right?
For my case, I didn’t have
any data plan until the start of 2013, which worked well for me because it
definitely takes away all the distraction away for me. And my parents only
allowed me to use the wifi at home on weekends. Strict? Yes, but it’s worth it
anyway since I got a data plan and the access for wifi because of my good grades
in o’s. It’s alright to sacrifice for o’s. Just remember that it will bring
benefits for you in the long run.
2. Stay healthy and take breaks in between studying.
The title itself is
self-explanatory. No matter what examinations you guys are sitting for, you
need to stay healthy. Do whatever it takes for you to avoid being sick. Who would
want to sit for a paper with a throbbing head or a terrible runny nose? Definitely
not you. I am always prone to getting sick on examination week because of
stress hahaha such a pity, but I would usually eat healthily and get lots of
rest. Getting enough sleep is also essential, 8 hours is more than enough. I
know it’s difficult to tuck in early, but if you add that in your normal
routine, I believe that it would be much of a problem.
3. Motivate yourself.
The best person to
motivate yourself is none other than yourself. As quoted from Zig Ziglar, “People
often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why
we recommend it daily.” You know yourself best, so try out different ways of
motivating yourself. I’m obsessed with calendars and I love them so much. you
can say calendars and dates are a big part in my life. On the top of every
month, I wrote down encouraging messages and even quotes like “Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.” It gives me that satisfying feeling whenever I look on my calendar. Or you
can even motivate yourself with a reward.
So these are pretty much the tips I use to get myself ready for
examinations, physically and mentally.
All the best for all of you, especially the graduating students
for prelims and n’s/o’s, and I wish you would get those desired grades!
xoxo
